Adding to the enigma is the record label Penstar Productions. Despite thorough searches in trade magazines, no information about Penstar Productions could be found. Even on Discogs, the only album listed under this label is LUIE LUIE’s “Touchy,” further deepening the mystery surrounding the artist and his works.

I’m very aware of how this album has become something of a meme, often ending up on lists of “worst album covers.” It’s always interesting to see how something like that can take on a life of its own. I don’t know if “Ben,” who generously provided me with this album, expected me to look at it through a similar lens, but as with all recordings, I’m more fascinated by the history behind it. While this one is indeed unusual, I truly believe that the artist, LUIE LUIE, genuinely wanted to share his talents and bring something he enjoyed to the world.
